Assonance of the <ไ-> and <ใ -> in Lilit Yuan Phai and Khlong Thawathotsamat : Implication of The Assimilation [-aj] Period in Thai

Abstract
This research article was to compare the pattern and frequency of the Assonance of the <ไ-> and <ใ-> in Lilit Yuan Phai and Khlong Thawathotsamat Adapting the Bickner (1992) study method. Lilit Yuan Phai (4th edition) of the Fine Arts Department And Khlong Thawathotsamat (the Ayutthaya period literature, volume 2) of the Fine Arts Department was the text of the analysis. The results showed that the Assonance pattern of the <ไ-> and <ใ-> in Lilit Yuan Phai certainly separated. The Assonance <ไ-> and <ใ-> occurred 3 times. On the contrary, the Assonance pattern of the <ไ-> and <ใ-> in Khlong Thawathotsamat unclearly separated and The Assonance <ไ-> and <ใ-> occurred 20 times. The pattern and frequency of the Assonance implied that the assimilation [-aj] phenomenon occurs between the post-composing Lilit Yuan Phai period and the composing Khlong Thawathotsamat (2007-2026 B.E.).
