Zen Aesthetic in Kamin Lertchaiprasert's Arts

This article aims to analyse Kamin Lertchaiprasert's works of art by using an analysis framework of Zen aesthetic The analysis uses both data from artists' in-depth interview, and documentary data. The Zen aesthetical framework used in this study focuses on the problem of value and aesthetic experience. The study found that the value of Kamin's works of art is subjective. The value derived from the working process rather than the complete art object. Kamin's art object can be defined as objective proof of artist's flagmented experiences during the process of creating art work. On the other hand, the aesthetic experiences are of purity, and sincerity. Artist avoids volitional activity such as to have hope and desires. Artist states that true aesthetic experience is to experience the truth itself.
