The Exploring of the Embodied Cognition and the 4E Cognition Concepts

This academic article aims to explore the Embodied Cognition and 4E Cognition concepts. The content will begin with the traditional cognitive theory which has been the former theory is an essential tool for describing the cognitive system. Then, the article will mention a new movement that did not agree with traditional cognitive theory. That movement presented the critiques and offered a new thought for the cognitive system, it is Embodied cognition. After that, the content will be presented regarding the fundamental essence of embodied cognition idea and Barsalou’s Perceptual Symbol System in the overview,
the supporting principle for embodied cognition, and the view of establishing cognition through the perceptual system. Moreover, the pillars of conceptualization of embodied cognition are also ascribed to show the motivation of embodied cognition. In the last part, I presented the basic meaning of the 4E cognition ideas that substitute Embodied, Embedded, Extended, and Enactive and offer two arguments for 4E cognition that are 4E cognition is consistent with postmodern methodology, and 4E cognition is the process of radical intense philosophizing.
