THE DEVELOPMENT OF HOSTELS TO ACCOMMODATE TOURISTS IN AYUTTHAYA

Abstract
This research is a combination of qualitative research and quantitative research. The objective is to study the behavior and satisfaction of hostel accommodation service for tourists to the development and tourists’ support in Ayutthaya province. The sample group is Thai tourists of 400 people, foreign tourists of 400 people, and entrepreneurs of 16 hostels. The tools used are questionnaires and interview forms. The data were analyzed by using package software with a descriptive statistic, frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The result found that the hostels in Ayutthaya have a high level of structure and facilities which have one owner management system. The tourists’ behavior indicated that tourists decided to stay by review from social media, and most of them intended to travel for leisure and prefer to travel alone. The average stay was 600 baht per night. The satisfaction for services of the hostels is the highest level. The hostels should be clean, have common facilities. Their decorations must be unique to attract attention, and they should have a relaxing corner. Price, 200 bath for shared bedroom with fan 400 bath for air conditioning per person. The price should have for high season and low season. The location should be in an area with public transportation. Staff are also encouraged to develop their skills and English communication to be ready for services and should be a group of entrepreneurs for referring tourists or providing a variety of assistance.
