THE DEVELOPMENT OF 21st CENTURY LEADERSHIP TRAINNING PROGRAM FOR VOCATIONAL STUDENTS IN VOCATIONAL COLLEGES UNDER PHETCHABURI OFFICE OF THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION COMMISSION

Abstract
The aims of this study were (1) to develop the 21st Century Leadership Training Program for vocational students in vocational colleges under Phetchaburi Office of the Vocational Education Commission; (2) to experiment, evaluate and improve the 21st Century Leadership Training Program for vocational students in vocational colleges under Phetchaburi Office of the Vocational Education Commission. The research sample consisted of 30 vocational students studying at the high vocational certificate level in vocational colleges under Phetchaburi Office of the Vocational Education Commission, who voluntarily participated in this experiment. The employed research tools were (1) an interview form, (2) an achievement test, (3) a leadership behavior assessment form, and (4) an evaluation form to assess appropriateness of the Program. The main statistics used for data analysis were the mean, standard deviation, and paired sample t-test.
The research results could be concluded as follows: (1) the 21st Century Leadership Training Program for vocational students in vocational colleges under Phetchaburi Office of the Vocational Education Commission consisted of 3 modules, namely, Module 1: Creative Thinking Skills for Creation of Innovations, Module 2: Ability for Leading and Building a Team, and Module 3: Decision Making Ability; (2) regarding the results of the experiment with the Program, it was found that (2.1) after receiving the training, the students improved their knowledge and leadership behavior at the .01 level of significance; and (2.2) the result of the appropriateness assessment of the Program showed that the Program was appropriate at the excellent level; and (3) the Program subsequently was improved by adding more details of leadership contents and more activities corresponding to the module’s objectives.
