This research studies the factors influencing the financial independence of Generation Y in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, with personal financial planning as a mediating variable. The sample used in this research consists of 386 online consumers. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research results indicate that the SEM model fits the theoretical model at an acceptable level. Financial literacy, self-control, and financial risk influence personal financial planning and independence.

Personal financial planning indirectly influences financial independence at the .05 significance level. This indicates that good financial planning helps individuals clarify their financial goals and track their progress, increasing the likelihood of achieving financial objectives such as saving enough for retirement or paying off debts more quickly. Thus, effective planning serves as a bridge that facilitates the  attainment of financial independence.
