ประวัติชีวิต และภาวะผู้นำเชิงคุณลักษณะของหมอเมืองพล

บทคัดย่อ

          การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประวัติชีวิตและภาวะผู้นำเชิงคุณลักษณะของหมอเมืองพลในช่วงชีวิตตั้งแต่วัยเด็ก วัยเรียน วัยสร้างครอบครัว และวัยทำงาน โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ด้วยการสัมภาษณ์ สังเกต การศึกษาจากเอกสารสิ่งพิมพ์ งานวิจัย และข้อมูลจากสื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ต่างๆ การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเฉพาะกรณีแบบกึ่งอัตชีวประวัติด้วยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และสัมภาษณ์เพื่อนร่วมงานและญาติใกล้ชิดของหมอเมืองพล การสังเกต การศึกษาค้นคว้าจากเอกสารสิ่งพิมพ์ และงานวิจัยต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับหมอเมืองพล ตรวจสอบข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการตรวจสอบแบบสามเส้า วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการจำแนกประเภทข้อมูล สร้างข้อสรุปเชิงอุปนัย และตรวจสอบความถูกต้องของข้อค้นพบกับหมอเมืองพล

          ผลการวิจัยด้านประวัติชีวิตของหมอเมืองพลพบว่า จากวัยเด็กที่มาจากครอบครัวยากจนมีสถานภาพทางเศรษฐกิจต่ำ แต่เป็นครอบครัวที่อบอุ่นและได้รับการเลี้ยงดูจากครอบครัวอย่างดี วัยเรียนเป็นเด็กที่มุมานะ อดทนต่อการขาดโอกาสในการเข้ารับการศึกษา แต่กระตือรือร้นใฝ่รู้จนสำเร็จแพทย์ สู่วัยสร้างครอบครัวที่มั่นคง และวัยทำงานที่อุทิศชีวิตแก่การบริการช่วยเหลือผู้ยากไร้ในสังคม สิ่งเหล่านี้ล้วนมีผลต่อการหล่อหลอมและพัฒนาภาวะผู้นำเชิงคุณลักษณะของหมอเมืองพลจนกลายเป็นบุคคลต้นแบบที่ถือเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีของความเป็นผู้นำที่ได้รับการยกย่องเชิดชูเกียรติยศจากทั้งในระดับประเทศและนานาชาติ ภาวะผู้นำเชิงคุณลักษณะของหมอเมืองพลที่โดดเด่นจากการวิจัยครั้งนี้มี 7 ประการคือ 1) เจตคติเชิงบวก 2) นำตนเองด้วยความซื่อสัตย์ รับผิดชอบ และมีน้ำใจ 3) ขยัน อดทน และกระตือรือร้น 4) ยอมรับผู้อื่นและเข้าถึงได้ 5) เมตตา 6) มีมนุษยสัมพันธ์และทักษะการสื่อสารที่ดี และ 7) ความรักที่แท้จริง

          This research study aimed at studying the life profile and leadership traits of the so-called Muang Phon medical doctor. His life profile included the biography since the family background of his childhood parenting, schooling period, marriage and family life and working experiences. This research was a qualitative research with the methodology of interview, observation and literature reviews from books, printing documents, research reports and various electronic media sources. This research was conducted as a case study of auto-biographs by in-depth interviews with Muang Phon medical doctor, his close friends and relatives, as well as reviewing previous research studies concerning the life history of Muang Phon medical doctor. Triangulation for ascertaining the reliability and validity; analyzed by categorizing information, analytic induction, and verifying validity of the findings with Muang Phon medical doctor.

          The finding of Muang Phon medical doctor’s life profile indicated that since his childhood he was brought up from a very poor and low economic status family but a good parenting care. He was taking great effort by himself for his advanced schooling. He was determined in marriage and family security and his all-time working experiences devoting to the poor and the disadvantaged in the community. His worthy life profile as mentioned affected development of his leadership personalities. He has been recognized and honored as a role model and one of the best leaders of Thailand and international countries. As for Muang Phon medical doctor’s leadership traits, there were 7 significant traits as follows: 1) positive attitude, 2) self-directed to honest, responsibility and generosity, 3) enthusiasm, 4) acceptability and approachable, 5) kindness, 6) human relationship & effective communication, and 7) true love.
