Life History and Narrative : Life with Wheels on the Path to Becoming an Award-winning Gentleman Driver

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the good model of the truck driver who received the gentleman driver award, which is an award for the importance of safe driving, with the key informant, namely Mr. Surasak Khodkham, the winner of the Truck Driver Award in 2016. The contest organized by one of the leading private organizations in Thailand. This study was a qualitative research using a narrative methodology approach of one-on-one interview.
The results of this study revealed that 1) The components of being a gentleman driver, according to Mr. Surasak Khodkham's views, were as follows : 1) emphasis on safe driving and follow traffic rules; having social responsibility, experience, skills, and expertise in truck driving. 2) Just in time and safe delivery strategy is to make his truck well-prepared, and to make the driver physically and mentally ready for the tasks, to check the schedule and transportation schedule, to manage situations, and to solve problems in due time. 3) Managing stress at work by being mindful of the present, sharing his feeling with colleagues, and relaxing by singing to relieve stress, and 4) For Mr. Somsak Khodkham, his spiritual anchor for driving safely is his family.
