บทคัดย่อ
ในปี ค.ศ. 1936 จอห์น เมย์นารด์ เคนส์ นำเสนอแนวคิดนโยบายเศรษฐกิจสำหรับแก้ปัญหาเศรษฐกิจตกต่ำและการว่างงานในหนังสือ“ทฤษฎีทั่วไปว่าด้วยการจ้างงาน ดอกเบี้ย และเงินตรา” แนวคิดของเคนส์เป็นแนวคิดที่ให้อำนาจรัฐมีบทบาทหลักในการแทรกแซงระบบเศรษฐกิจและสังคมในช่วงเวลาที่ประเทศประสบกับวิกฤต แนวคิดของเคนส์ได้รับการยอมรับและนำมาใช้เป็นแนวทางกำหนดนโยบายเศรษฐกิจและสวัสดิการสังคมภายหลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ยุติลง แม้ว่าแนวคิดนี้จะถูกนำเสนอมาเป็นระยะเวลานาน แต่เมื่อใดเกิดวิกฤตที่ส่งผลต่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคม แนวคิดนี้จะถูกนำกลับมาใช้โดยรัฐบาลประเทศต่างๆ อยู่เสมอ
