Modern Political Philosophy: Influences and Challenges

Abstract
Modern political philosophy constitutes a significant domain within the broader field of philosophy, instrumental in the formulation and evolution of political ideologies and theoretical frameworks. Its importance is underscored in the discipline of political science, serving as a fundamental instrument for the rigorous analysis and comprehension of political phenomena. The objective of this article is to delineate the distinctive characteristics inherent in modern political philosophy, scrutinize its impact on the contemporary global milieu, and assess the challenges that confront modern political philosophy in the current sociopolitical landscape. The article articulates the attributes of modern political philosophy as being grounded in the examination of political and social dimensions that are rooted in empirical reality, devoid of the influence of normative value considerations, underpinning the conceptualization of liberty and equality, as well as the emergence of the modern state and contemporary governance systems. The article posits that in the context of today's global society, modern political philosophy encounters substantial challenges arising from both social and technological transformations. Consequently, the theoretical constructs associated with modern political philosophy as a "core ideology," now struggle to adequately address the myriad and multifaceted political and social dilemmas. These challenges encompass the tensions between individual rights and collective welfare, the complexities of cultural pluralism, the quest for equilibrium between personal freedom and societal security, as well as the pervasive issues of social and economic disparity.
