THE DEVELOPMENT MODEL OF SCHOOL SAFETY MANAGEMENT: BANGKOK PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study opinions towards school safety management and 2) to develop a model of school safety management. Mix method Research was used. The population was administrators and teachers involved in school safety management under the Office of Primary Educational Service Area, Bangkok, in the amount of 1,114 people randomly selected according to the proportion of the population. The sample group was 295 people. The research tool was the use of questionnaires. The confidence value was .9839. The statistics used were mean and standard deviation. It is qualitative research. Key informants include school administrators, teachers, parents, and school committees 10 persons. The research tools used were the interview form and the data analyzed by content analysis.

The findings were as follows: 1) Opinions on school safety management 1.1) Opinions on the practice of school safety management in general were at a high level. 1.2) Opinions on the practice of buildings and facilities in general were at a high level. 1.3) Opinions on the practice of disaster management in school in general were at a high level. 1.4) Opinions on the current state of the disaster risk reduction practices in general were at a high level. 1.5) Opinions on the practices of safety in schools in general were at a high level. 1.6) Opinions on the practice of threats caused by human violence in general were at a high level. 1.7) Opinions on the practices concerning the dangers caused by accidents in general were at a high level. 1.8) Opinions on the practices concerning the dangers arising from copyright infringement in general were at a high level. 1.9) Opinions on the practices concerning the harm caused by physical and mental health effects in general were at a high level. 2) The model of school safety management consists of prevention, indoctrination and suppression. The result of the evaluation of such model has been evaluated by experts in human resource management. Scholars have found that all components of the model of school safety management are most appropriate and practical.
