THE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OF ADMINISTRATORS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL UNDER UDON THANI PRIMARY EDUCATIONANAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) study the state of the democratic leadership of administrators in primary school under Udon Thani Educational Service Area Office 3 2) studythe democratic leadership development guideline of  administrators in primary schools. There are 2 phases consisting of Phase 1, studiedthestate of democratic leadership of  administrators in primary schools3. The sample  consisted of 311 teachersobtained by stratified random sampling. The research instrumentwas a rating scale questionnaire which the reliability was 0.98. The data were analyzed by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Phase 2, studied the democratic leadership development guideline of administrators in primary schools using In-Depth Interview. The interviewees were 5 administrators and 5 teachers, data were analyzed using content analysis. The resultsofthe research.

1. The democratic leadership of the administrators in primary schools was at a medium level overallin 7 aspects. When considered each aspect from the highest level to the lowest level as respecting in rights and liberties, supporting teachers to participate in administration and assistingteachers was the lowest level.

2.  The democratic leadership development guidelineconsisted of 7 aspects1)administrators should support teachers to join the seminar to develop ethic, knowledge and ability. 2) Administrators should give opportunity for teachers to give opinions. 3) Administrators should have the morale for work performance of personnel. 4) Administrators should support teachers to participate in school administration.5)  administrators should give advice in working 6)  administrators should give  working autonomy to teachers. 7)  administrators should support the teachers to have creative thinking in working.
