THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH LEARNING MANAGEMENT ABILITY BASE ON TEACHER NEEDS : THE CASE STUDY OF SCHOOL UNDER OFFICE OF CHIANGMAI PRIMARY EDUCATION SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) Study the implementation of English learning management ability development for Teacher in School under office of Primary Education Service Area office 1.   2) Study the result of pre – post English learning management ability development base on teacher needs.  Population were 102 English teachers in School under office of Primary Education Service Area office 1.
The research instruments were 1) The questionnaire of needs, 5 levels rating scales, The correlation is .93.  2)  The ability evaluation form of learning management, 3 levels rating scales, The correlation is .85. And 3) The supervision recording form.   The qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis; Priority Needs Index, Frequency, Mean, Standard deviation and t – test (Dependent) for quantitative data.

            The results of research were shown as the followings:

1. The needs of English learning management ability development were: 1) Supporting medias and materials for English learning 2) Supporting materials or budget for making English media 3) Supervision following and advising in English learning management of English teacher with native speaker and Thai instructor regularly 4) Reward the English teachers who have practical results of English learning management through defined criteria. 5) English media workshop 6) Evaluation tools operating workshop 7) English learning online resources workshop 8) Training on the  skill  of listening , speaking , reading  and  writing  with native  speaker  instructor  9)  Lesson  plan  workshop  10) Training  activities to increase English  learning such as: games, music  and 11)  Training on the  skill  of listening , speaking , reading  and  writing  with Thai  instructor . The implementation of English learning management ability development base on teacher needs in the project for Asian community readiness during budget year of 2014 – 2015 by individual and group working.


2. The result of English learning management ability Revealed that post – implementation higher than pre - implementation at .01 level significant, The pre - implementation was at moderate level and much  level  in post – implementation.
