A Study of Students, Learning Achievement and Century Skills by Online Learning

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) develop online lessons, 2) study the students’ achievement who learned through online lessons, and 3) compare the 21st-century learning skills of those learning online lessons and traditional methods. Samples were 104 students at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, who enrolled in Educational Technology Course, in the 1st semester of 2018. Cluster Random sampling was applied to select the sample. Fifty-four students participated in the experiment group and fifty students participated in the control group. Research instruments were e-Learning courses, teaching plans, achievement tests, and 21st-century skill assessments. Data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, SD, and t-test.

Research results showed that 1) the overall quality of online course for Educational Technology was at the best level, 2) the average score of students studying online course was statistically significantly higher than that of studying through traditional method at .05 level, and 3) the 21st-century learning skills of experimental group and control group students in the creative thinking skills, communication skills, and collaboration skills were significantly different at the .05 level, but their critical thinking skills were not statistically different at the .05 level.
