Parent Education to Promote Citizenship of Young Children by Using “The Little Kids Fighting Covid-19” Activity Kits

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of parent education to promote citizenship of young children by using “The Little Kids Fighting Covid-19” activity kits. The subjects used in this study were 4 parents of young children who have graduated in kindergarten level 3 Anuban Pathumthani School under the Office of Pathumthani Primary Educational Service Area 1, who were interested, willing, and ready to participate in this activity throughout the study period and also have the ability to use social network as LINE and Facebook. The instruments used in this study were “The Little Kids Fighting Covid-19” activity kits consisted of 6 themes of 18 activities, knowledge and understanding test of parents about promoting citizenship of young children. Observation form for parents' behavior in doing activities with children at home and an interview form for parents' opinions. The quantitative data were analyzed by means and percentage, and content analysis were used for analyzed qualitative data.

            The results of the study showed that parents have more knowledge and understanding, skills and feelings towards promoting citizenship of young children. Young children in the families participating in the activity kits have improved citizenship behavior in all aspects. Parents were satisfied with the activity kits at a good level.
