An Analysis of Cost and Return of Shallot in Yangchumnoi District, Sisaket Province.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to study the general information about cost and revenue from selling shallot (2) to analyze the cost and return of Shallot in Yangchumnoi, Sisaket Province (3) to study problems and obstacles of farmers to plant shallot.

            In this research, the data were collected by field survey using questionnaire from farmers planted shallot in Yangchumnoi, Sisaket Province, including Yangchumnoi District, Bung Bon district and Linn-Fha district. The sample size was 343 samples. The analysis of this data used by descriptive statistics and cost and return analysis.

            The study result of the cost from the shallot planting showed that the average variable costs was 19,058.09 baht per acre. The highest cost to planting shallot was a labor cost. For average return at price of 22.37 baht per kilogram, the average return was 67,110 baht per acre

            The study result of cost and return analysis showed that breakeven point was 0.3 kilogram per acre. Net profit to cost ratio was 252.13 % while net profit to sale ratio was 71.6 %  and return on investment (ROA) was 99.62 %
