Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop of achievement on biology to pass the criteria 70 percent and 2) to develop of problem solving thinking ability to pass the criteria 65 percent by using Problem-based Learning. The sample group in this study was 21 Matthayomsueksa 5 students who are studying in Biology subject, Semester 2, academic year 2019, at the Tesaban Burapha Phitthayakhan School, Muang Mahasarakham District, Maha Sarakham Province. The instrument used in this study were 1) The problem-based learning Management Plan, Biology subject, The topic of the circulatory system and the digestive system with 8 plans for 12 hours of learning. 2) The achievement Test of biology learning, select 4 answers, 2 sets, 20 items in each set. 3) The problem solving tests consist of 2 sets, 5 situations per set. 4) The observation form for problem solving. This research was the type of action research which consists of 2 action circuits which are action circuit 1, use learning management plan 1-4, action cycle 2 use learning management plan 5-8. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data were mean, percentage and standard deviation. The results of the study were as follows. 1) Students passed the criteria at a percentage of 70 which was 77.38% of learning achievement 2) students passed the criteria at a percentage of 65 which was 67.56% of problem-solving. based. In conclusion, problem-based learning had effectiveness and influenced to develop biology achievement and problem solving ability of target group. Therefore, teacher can use this learning by apply in a suitable situation.
