Abstract

Piphat folk is a reflection of local identity Through music culture Is an important wisdom heritage that remains with the community. Piphat folk ensemble Sow Duriyasinlapin still has a play in various traditional events in Phimai district and Nearby Places. If the knowledge about the local piphat Folk is risk of loss. Because the knowledgeable person is an elderly group with an average age of 70-80 years. This research is Qualitative research There is a purpose 1) investigate the historical development of the piphat folk ensemble Sow Duriyasinlapin, and 2) to study the roles in society of piphat folk ensemble Sow Duriyasinlapin. through multiple techniques: survey, interview, observation, field-note, and documentary analysis. The research found that piphat folk ensemble Sow Duriyasinlapin received musical knowledge from Mr.Pan (unknown last name) and Mr. Chan (unknown last name), a musician who emigrated from Ban Srisuk, Non Sung District, Nakhon Ratchasima. Mr. Pan taught music and initiated the formation of the pi phat By practicing music for interested people In Ban Tapan, Ban Ranga, Ban Tabong, Ban Nong Chik, Ban Nong Prue and Ban Pra Suk. As for Mr. Chan has conveyed the knowledge of music.
