A Study of Information Needs and Use of the Students at Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts, Bunditpatanasilpa Institute

Abstract

The purpose of this research were to 1) study the need and used of information 2) study the problems of searching and using information of students of Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts Bunditpattanasilpa Institute. Sampling group used in the study are under graduate level students of Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts Bunditpattanasilpa Institute by using Questionnaires as the instruments in data gatherings, Analysis statistics were frequency, percentage, mean standard deviation,  t-test, F-test, One-way ANOVA and Scheffe’s Test. Result of the research finds that   1) students of Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts Bunditpattanasilpa Institute mainly are of female sex (77.7%) of first year class currently studying in the Faculty of Art Education 2) Behaviors on the seeking and using of information of Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts Bunditpattanasilpa Institute students, in the overall , are rated in high level. Whereon the factors of the 4 areas, it is found that the area in which all students have accounted for the use of the information in high level is the area on the objective on the use of information with second down the line being the area on the nature of information, the methodology in seeking information and the source of information, respectively 3) Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts Bunditpattanasilpa Institute students have had the problems on the seeking and using of the information, in the overall, in medium level. The 3 problem areas found were the problem with the information source within the Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts which is rated in high level where on the problem found at the information source outside the Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts and personal problem, the students  had the problem in medium level 4) Hypothetical Test: 4.1) Students needs and uses of information categorized by gender, year, and program of study were different 4.2) Problems in searching and using information of students classified by year. And the study subjects were different, while the problems in searching and using information of students were classified by gender were not different.
