The English Vocabulary Learning Activity Development by Using Sight Word Approach with Picture Me Reading Technique for the Fourth Grade Students

Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to develop the English vocabulary learning activity by using the sight word approach with the picture me reading technique for the fourth grade students, efficiency of 75/75, 2) to compare the English vocabulary learning activity with 75 percent criteria, and 3) to study the students satisfaction the English vocabulary learning activity. The sample group was 15 students in fourth grade at Bankhoi School Mueang Suang District, Roi Et Province in the second semester of academic year 2023, obtained by cluster random sampling, which is a random unit. The research instruments were 12 plans, of English vocabulary learning activity by using sight word approach with the picture me reading technique the quality is 4.27 and 20 achievement tests, multiple-choice, Index of Item Objective Congruence 0.6-1.0, with a difficulty value of 0.40-0.70, a power factor of 0.20-0.50 and confidence value 0.64. 20 learning ability test, multiple-choice, Concordance Index 0.6-1.0, with a difficulty value of 0.20-0.80, a power factor of 0.20-1.00, and a confidence value of 0.78 and student a satisfaction questionnaire with English vocabulary learning activity by using the sight word approach with the picture me reading technique for the fourth-grade students, Concordance Index 0.6-1.0, and confidence value 0.86. The data were analyzed using basic statistics such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test statistics. The research results were: (1) The study found that learning activities consisted of 4 learning steps: Step 1 is the Let me know step, Step 2 is the Recall step, Step 3 is the Recognition step, and Step 4 is the Train to remember step. For the English vocabulary learning activity by using the sight word approach the criteria of 79.31/75.35 and the students’ ability in English vocabulary learning was higher than the criterion with a statistical significance of .05 and students’ satisfaction with the English vocabulary activity by using sight word approach with picture me reading technique was at the high level.
