Information behavior of undergraduate students at Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the information behavior of Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University students and 2) study the problems and obstacles in information use of Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University students. The sample group consisted of 375 undergraduate students in their 1st to 4th year of the academic year 2024. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research findings of the research revealed that 1. in terms of student information behavior, and information needs, consists of 4 sides includes 1) students primarily sought information for their studies, with the highest mean. 2) in terms of information search methods consists of 3 issues includes 2.1) students commonly searched using keywords, with the highest mean. 2.2) students predominantly used Google [http://www.Google.com] with the highest mean. 2.3) In terms of using information seeking equipment, students used smartphones, with the highest mean value. 3) In terms of information evaluation, students evaluated information based on the timeliness, with the highest mean value.   4) students’ information behavior in terms of information use and agency types consists of 4 issues includes 4.1) students used the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology, with the highest mean value. 4.2) In terms of individuals, students used information from their instructors, with the highest mean value. 4.3) In terms of electronic information sources, students used electronic books (e-Books), with the highest mean value. 4.4) information use, in terms of printed materials, students used general academic books in Thai, with the highest mean.   2) As for information usage problems [students encountered problems accessity information due to Wi-Fi signal issues] with the highest mean.
