FACTOR ANALYSIS OF MORAL INTELLIGENCE OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF CENTRAL REGION

The objectives of this research are to analyze the exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis of moral intelligence of undergraduate students in private higher education institutions of the central region. The sample consistes of 980 undergraduate students for analyzing exploratory factor analysis and 540 undergraduate students in for analyzing second order confirmatory factor analysis from 4 private higher education institutions. Data were collected by using questionnaires related to moral intelligence with 5 rating scale and then analyzed by exploratory factor analysis using statistical package program SPSS to extract the component of moral intelligence. The model was validated by second order confirmatory factor analysis using LISREL program.
The research results indicated that moral intelligence of undergraduate students consists of four components: responsibility, compassion, forgiveness, and respect. The four components accounted for 36.66% of moral intelligence. The statistical test indicates that moral intelligence model was congruent with the empirical data.
