A MODEL OF GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM OF SMALL SCHOOLS IN BANGKOK METROPOLITAN ADMINISTRATION

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the state and problems of small schools to study the state of management Geographic Information System and needs of using information system of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and to design a model of Geographic Information System of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The research methodology consisted of prepare to survey the state and problems of school administration and the state of management information system and needs of using Geographic Information System of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in operation today. The unit of analysis was 131 small schools. Create a model of Geographic Information System of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration by interviewing specialists And propose a model of Geographic Information System of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration by using the connoisseurship model technique to evaluate the model by the judgment of experts and administrators of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration toward the proposed a model of Geographic Information System of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The instruments consisted of questionaire, semi-structured interview and model evaluation form.

The results of the research can be summarized as follows.

1. The problems regarding the educational of administration of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in operation today were in the moderate on average. The means of administration problems from highest were academic administration

2. The state of the information system implement of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in operation today was moderate. The mean of information system from highest to lowest were hardware, software, procedures, data/database and person. And the needs of using Geographic Information System of small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in operation today were large. The mean of need from highest were academic administration

3. The model of the Geographic Information System for small schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration developed according to management system theory including Input factor consisted of person ,hardware, software, data/ database and budgets. The process: schools can choose to operate all four sub systems at once or select some subsystems first. Output and outcome consisted of Geographic Information System for administration schools and needs information for individual user, and the feedback consisted of school’s feedback data, department’s feedback data and administration feedback data. 98.81% of the experts approved the appropriateness and the practicality of the proposed model.
