PREPARATION FOR ASEAN COMMUNITY WITH LANGUAGE EXCELLENCE

Abstract

This article states that establishing ASEAN Community with the concept “One Vision, One Identity, One Community” is considered an important phenomenon, leading to changes in many aspects. Especially, formation of ASEAN Community by 2015 will directly affect marketing, production, and labor of Thai people. In addition, the important thing which cannot be overlooked is the ability to use languages for communication. Languages will become very necessary. Therefore, a lot of things have been done in school and higher education levels to deal with the upcoming changes during the past year. Although these institutions have different guidelines to follow, they expect to achieve the same goal: developing English language skill and teaching other related languages.
