Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between employees’ communication satisfaction and the effectiveness of internal communication within government agency. The hypothesis posits that communication satisfaction is positively related to the effectiveness of internal communication in government agency. The sample consists of 322 government employees, and data was collected using a questionnaire measuring communication satisfaction and internal communication effectiveness. The data was analyzed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficients. The results revealed that information quality is the factor most strongly correlated with internal communication effectiveness in government agency, with a significant positive relationship (p < 0.01). Other dimensions such as job satisfaction, sufficiency of information, suggestion/improvement ability, channel efficiency, and communication with colleagues also showed significant relationships with internal communication effectiveness. These findings highlight the importance of managing the quality of information to ensure it is clear, accurate, and relevant to employees. This can help enhance both work performance and internal communication effectiveness within government agency. The results can be used to inform the development of policies and strategies to improve internal communication systems in government organizations.
