Abstract

The promotion of media and information literacy extends the potential of people in terms of human rights according to Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers “. If we know media and information literacy, we can use it for teaching and learning process. The teachers can enlarge their knowledge to empower the citizen in the future. Media and information literacy provides knowledge on duty of media and information channels in democratic society. It can make us understand the necessary duty and basic skills to evaluate the senders of media and information. Moreover, the society with media and information literacy focuses on the development of media freedom and diversity and the information system.
