Abstract

During the period of military dictatorship between 1960 to October 14, 1973, the education system in Thailand was used as one of the essential tools to rebuild and reproduce the youths’ beliefs. To form the new belief the state needs, the curriculum and values of contents in textbooks were specified. This article aims to demonstrate the patterns and methods of the government’s political socialization efforts in the textbooks used in the military dictatorship years.
