Development of Sustainable Blue Economy in International Context

Abstract
The ‘Blue Economy’ is an increasingly popular term in modern marine, coastal and ocean governance. The concept seeks to marry ocean based development opportunities with environmental stewardship and protection. This article presents the research results of documentary review on the development of sustainable blue economy. The study selected three case studies to explore their approaches and measures in implementing the blue economy concept. The application of Blue Economy concept the international context can be divided into three main approaches : (1) Blue Economy’s Strategies in the macro economic, (2) Development of policy framework for Blue Economy, and (3) Technology or innovation in the management of Blue Economy. Under a sustainable blue economy, maritime and coastal activities reconcile economic development, improved livelihoods and social inclusion with fighting the climate crisis, protecting biodiversity and ecosystems, using resources responsibly and achieving the zero-pollution ambition.
