Essential Characteristics of Successful SMEs Entrepreneurs in Trade Section in Bangkok

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study and analyze crucial elements and characteristic of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs’ success and forecast relationship model of elements of characteristic which effected on the achievement of SMEs entrepreneurs in the trade sector using survey questionnaire to collect data from 400 SMEs entrepreneurs in trade sector and use descriptive statistics and One-Way ANOVA and Regression to analyze data variables and to test hypothesis. The results from this research found crucial elements of SMEs entrepreneurs’ characteristics which were customer-relation building, health concerned, time contributed to business, the arts of convincing customer, speed in problem solving, communication skills, creative ideas, products presentation, decision making, leadership, and network building Regarding to marketing strategy, the results revealed that the entrepreneurs placed most important role on marketing promotions, product, distribution channel, and pricing respectively. Moreover, the results revealed that out of 11 elements of characteristic only 9 elements had relationships with the entrepreneurs’ achievements including health concerned, time contributed to business, the arts of convincing customer, speed in problem solving, communication skills, products presentation, decision making, leadership, and network building had relationships with the entrepreneurs’ 4 achievements at significant level .05 including business success, trend in employee figure, tread in customer increase, and trend in sales volume increase.
