The Causal Factor of Psychological Characteristics and Situation of Volunteer Behavior of Thai Youth

The objective of this research was to explore important causal factors, quantity and orders of predators on situational type, psychological trait, and psychological state involved with the behaviors of volunteer spirit by studying comparative relation based on fundamental concepts of interactionism model. The sample group included 800 Thai youth by using multi-stage as well as quota random samplings. Multiple regression analysis of ENTER and STEPWISE formats and three-way of variance were applied for analyzing data of main group and 20 sub-groups. The findings revealed that 11 independent variables could predict the behavior of volunteer spirit 1) in main group for 45.90% with key predictors of model perception from surrounding people, model perception from media, need for achievement, good attitude toward livelihood behavior based on sufficiency economy philosophy, future orientation, including self-control and self-defense protection. 2) sub-group of father who had monthly salary for 51.10% with key predictors of model perception from media, model perception from surrounding people, need for achievement, trust from others, and good attitude toward livelihood behavior based on sufficiency economy philosophy. The lowest prediction of sub-group was Thai youth group who had outdoor activities for 41.20% with the predictors of model perception from surrounding people, model perception from media, good attitude toward livelihood behavior based on sufficiency economy philosophy, and need for achievement. The study results pointed out the important research guidelines and development in order to strengthen Thai youth for having the behaviors of volunteer spirit in the proper direction of good, smart, and happy person.
