Passive sentences in German are diverse and complex. Grammatically, they can appear in various forms and meanings where each differs in detail. Despite such lucid grammatical structure, there often are conflicting points among grammatical rules as well as some exceptions. Besides, in German, there exist many other types of sentences that are not in the form of Passive structure but instead convey such meaning. Therefore, Passive in German is fairly difficult to understand for non-native speakers. Hence, the purpose of this article is to study and gather both Passive sentences and other forms of sentences that convey such meaning in German. They will be explained from the point of view of one who uses Thai as his mother tongue. The conclusion of the study suggests that it is always essential to fully understand the rules and elements of the sentence in light of the grammatical structure. However, once understood, ones should not be attached to the structure and the meaning of each word in the sentences, but rather the overall meaning and the intent to communicate using those sentences.
