PRONUNCIATION GAMES FOR TEACHING GERMAN LANGUAGE PHONETISCHE ÜBUNGSSPIELE IM DEUTSCHUNTERRICHT

Abstract
In language acquisition, pronunciation plays a significant role, equal to grammar and vocabulary. However, in teaching German language, often less consideration is given to the practice of pronunciation when compared to grammar and vocabulary. Thus, learners and teachers should pay more attention to the training of pronunciation. Phonetic games are very important for the motivation in learning and teaching German pronunciation.
This article concentrates on the practical application of a variety of pronunciation games for teaching German language and pronunciation. In the first part of the article, the definitions of “phonetics” and “pronunciation” are given as a preliminary theoretical foundation. In the second part, the importance of using pronunciation games and exercises in teaching German language is shown, followed by the largest part, various interesting pronunciation games for teaching German language as well as pronunciation. The findings are summarized in the last part and general didactic advice is given.
