Developing a 3D game titled “Learning reading and writing skills in Thai language” for matthayom 1 level

Abstract

       This research aims to: 1) Develop a 3D game on "Learning reading and writing skills in Thai language” and 2) Evaluate the satisfaction towards the 3D game. The sample group for this study consists of 39 first-year secondary school students from Sathabuttharabhampin School, Minburi District, Bangkok, in the academic year 2023, using from one class selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments include: (1) 3D game on “Learning reading and writing skills in Thai language”, (2) quality evaluation form for 3D game and (3) satisfaction survey for primary 6 students regarding the 3D game. The statistics used in this research include averages. and standard deviation.

       The  research findings revealed that 1) a 3D game on “Learning reading and writing skills in Thai language” was enjoyable and helps enhance knowledge, The quality evaluation from experts rated the overall quality at the highest level (𝑥̅ = 4.63, S.D.= 0.48)  2) primary 6 students' satisfaction with the 3D game, regarding the following: For the content of the game, overall satisfaction was at a high level (𝑥̅ = 4.49, S.D.= 0.54), regarding design, overall satisfaction was at the highest level (𝑥̅ = 4.69, S.D.= 0.54), regarding technical aspects and game systems, overall satisfaction was at the highest level (𝑥̅ = 4.51, S.D.=  0.62) and in terms of benefits and usage, overall satisfaction was at the highest level (𝑥̅ = 4.90,  S.D.=  0.35)
