MOBILE APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHING ELEMENTARY CHINESE

Abstract

          This article presents the mobile application that uses an android system as a teaching materials in Basic Chinese module for the learners in higher education. The objectives in this article are: 1) to use Chinese language skills identify the type of application as a tool 2) to produce Chinese teaching materials by using the developed application that bases on flash cards 3) to compare the Pinyin usage through learning and teaching contexts. The analytical results aim to propose the guidelines for learning and teaching in Chinese language development and stimulate Chinese language learning both inside and outside classroom. Moreover, those results will decrease the limitations in terms of places and time of learning. Significantly, the article will present the Chinese language application to meet the learner’s requirement that focuses on modernization and being a self-directed learning.
