THE CAUSAL EFFECT OF PERCEIVED FAIRNESS, PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT, JOB BURNOUT ON JOB PERFORMANCE AT IMMIGRATION OFFICER
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were (1) to study the causal factors of the relationships of perceived fairness, perceived organizational support, job burnout, and job performance result; and (2) to examine the consistency between the causal model and empirical data. The samples were personnel of a state agency in charge of providing immigration document by screening people and vehicles in Thailand. The employed research instrument was a questionnaire with factor loadings between .707-.907 and with Cronbach alpha between .869-.924. The structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyze this data.
The results reveal that (1) perceived fairness has a positive influence on perceived organizational support; perceived organizational support has a positive influence on job performance; while job burnout has a negative influence on job performance result; and (2) as for the causal relationship model, results of data analysis show that the model has goodness-of-ft with the empirical data (χ2/df = 1.670, p = .000, GFI = .909, AGFI = .873, CFI = .965, RMSEA = .058). Finally, theoretical and managerial contributions, and suggestions for organization effciency development and further researches are provided.
