THE NEEDS OF WELFARE SCHOOL ACADEMIC MANAGEMENT BASED ON THE CONCEPT OF FUTURE CAREERS

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to explore the priority of needs of welfare school academic management based on the concept of future careers. The research population comprised welfare schools; while the research sample consisted of 49 welfare schools. The key research informants consisted of 363 out of 490 welfare school personnel classified into school directors, deputy directors, heads of learning area, and guidance teachers. The employed research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire. Statistics employed for data analysis were the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and priority need index (PNImodified). Results of the study revealed that the priority of needs of welfare school academic management based on the concept of future careers could be ranked as follows: (1) the aspect of instructional management in the Medical and Health Science Learning Area (PNIModified = 0.290), followed by the aspect of measurement and evaluation in the Medical and Health Science Learning Area (PNIModified = 0.283), and the aspect of curriculum development in the Medical and Health Science Learning Area (PNIModified = 0.281).
