This research aims to analyze and develop an upstream supply chain management model of agricultural products in peri-urban areas that occurs as a result of linking the networks in the agricultural product supply chain through the community participation process. A questionnaire and an interview form were used for data collection, including using activities to strengthen the network connection. The results of the study of the pattern of agricultural operations reveal that in the orchard group, longan is the main economic product. The average longan cultivation area is about 3 rais. In the vegetables group, the cultivation is characterized by being small agricultural plots. This research therefore focused on studying activities in supply chains of longan. The research results indicated that longan supply chains in the area were short chains. The major problems that affected the operation of the farmers were the fertilizer cost and high wage of labor. Then, the researchers used guidelines for promoting the inter-dependence and collaboration of the farmers and linking the alliances in the supply chain. Main value-added activities focused on increasing productivity and designing activities to create strength with the use of participatory training through simulation situations in 3 business functions: marketing, production, and group management. In addition, process upgrading was conducted by using the mechanism of government agencies which supervised agricultural work, promoted collaborative farming for increasing a bargaining power so that the farmers can plan the longan production to have quality and quantity that respond to the demand in the future.
