Abstract

The purposes of this study were (1) to analyze and synthesize documents and research studies related to wiki-based learning model using knowledge management process to promote active learning management skills, (2) to develop the wiki-based learning model, and (3) to compare management skills before and after using the wiki-based learning model. The targeted respondents were student teachers of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi using the design and development method of Richey & Klein (2007) with 3 phases, namely, Phase 1 was the model-related document analysis and synthesis phase; Phase 2 was the learning development phase; and Phase 3 was the comparison of the management of learning skills. The employed research tools were the management process of active learning, a learning achievement test, and a scale to assess active learning management skills. Research data were statistically analysed using the percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results of this study show that (1) there are 4 steps of wiki-based active learning which are (a) knowledge seeking, (b) interactive learning, (c) practical learning, and (d) presentation of work outcomes; (2) development of wiki-based learning consists of 2 parts: the first part is the wiki-based learning model, which has quality at the high level; and the second part is the wiki-based learning model, which efficient in accordance with the pre-determined criterion; and (3) the post-learning active learning management skills of student teachers were higher than their pre-learning active learning management skills.
