FACTORS AFFECTING THE READINESS OF HERBAL SUPPLY CHAINS MANAGEMENT COMMUNITY ENTERPRISES

Abstract
The objectives of this study were (1) to study the model of activities in the supply chains of herbal community enterprises, (2) to study the management factors of the herbal community enterprises, and (3) to analyze the model of activities occurring in the supply chains of the herbal community enterprises and the management factors affecting the readiness of herbal community enterprises. This study was a mixed-method research. The data were collected by using a questionnaire with 42 enterprises and in-depth interviews with 2 governmental agencies. The results revealed that (1) the model of activities in the supply chains of herbal community enterprises comprised the raw material procurement which received the highest rating mean, to be followed by the transportation, the product return, the operational support, the planning, and the production, respectively; (2) the management factors of herbal community enterprises comprised the leadership which received the highest rating mean, to be followed by the entrepreneurship, the application of local wisdom, the community participation, and the receiving of government supports, respectively; and (3) the model of activities occurring in the supply chains of herbal community enterprises in terms of the operational support, and the management factors of herbal community enterprises in terms of application of local wisdom, leadership, and community participation affected the readiness of herbal community enterprises for supply chains management sustainably, with the 91.4 percent predictive power, which was significant at the .01 level of statistical significance.
