Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to study social influences, perceived risks, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived costs, attitudes toward the use of mobile banking, and intention to use mobile banking and (2) to develop and verify the consistency of a causal factors model affecting the intention to use mobile banking for financial transactions of Thai citizens. This research was a questionnaire-based quantitative research method. Data were collected from a sample group, consisting of 540 people, aged 25 years and over, who had experience in using mobile banking. Data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling. The results revealed that (1) perceived risks, perceived usefulness, perceived costs, and attitudes toward the use of mobile banking directly influenced the intention to use mobile banking to make financial transactions (ß = 0.067, 0.100, -0.082 and 0.800 respectively); perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use indirectly influenced the intention to use mobile banking to make financial transactions through the median variable of attitude toward the use of mobile banking (ß = 0.322 and 0.270 respectively) and (2) the model was consistent with the empirical data at the good level.
