PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND JOB CHARACTERISTICS AFFECTING CAREER ADVANCEMENT FOR PERSONNEL IN HIGHER PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study on factors which affect personal characteristics and job characteristics that has effect on the career advancement of personnel in higher private educational Institution. The sample group used for the study consisted of 280 by personnel. By using questionnaire as the tools for data collection and analyzing methods using percentage standard deviation and multiple regressions at significant levels of 0.05, it was found that personal characteristics, experience work, salary and job characteristics, skill variety, job significance, autonomy, and feedback were the main factors that has effect on the career advancement. These results can be applied for personal development towards the career advancement.
