SCENARIO OF LEADERSHIP OF THAI SECONDARY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN THE NEXT DECADE (A.D. 2020-2030)

Abstract
The objectives of this research were (1) to study the scenario of leadership of Thai secondary school administrators in the next decade and (2) to propose the scenario of leadership of Thai secondary school administrators in the next decade using EDFR research methodology. This research was divided into 3 phases: The first phase was the study of scenario of leadership of Thai secondary school administrators. The second phase was the data collection by interviewing experts and using the collected data to synthesize the leadership. The third phase was the proposal of the scenario of leadership of Thai secondary school administrators in the next decade. The population under study consisted of 21 purposively selected educational administrators and school administrators. They were divided into three groups, namely, the group of high-level administrators, the group of academicians, and the group of school administrators. The employed instruments were (1) a semi-structured interview form and (2) a 5-level Likert scale opinion questionnaire. Quantitative data were statistically analyzed using the median and inter quartile range; while qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis. The research findings were as follows: (1) the scenario of leadership of Thai secondary school administrators in the next decade (A.D. 2020 - 2030) comprised 11 aspects: (1) vision for change, (2) collaboration, (3) empowerment, (4) giving and service, (5) imagination and innovation, (6) collaborative learning, (7) community development, (8) network establishment, (9) leading together, (10) strong communication, and (11) management of individual development and career path and (2) the scenario of leadership of Thai secondary school administrators in the next decade in all of the 11 aspects must have three important components: (1) having knowledge and understanding of the body of knowledge; (2) having leadership skills in each area; and (3) being able to use communication technology to keep up with the changes.
