THE STAKEHOLDERS’ ATTITUDE TOWARD EXCELLENCE FACTORS OF PRIVATE KINDERGARTEN
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to 1) identify the excellence factors of private kindergartens, and 2) confirm these factors based on stakeholders’ attitudes and empirical data. The sample, obtained through simple random sampling, comprised 88 private schools under the Office of the Private Education Commission that offer early Childhood education. Three respondents from each school—an administrator, a teacher, and a board member—participated, totaling 264 individuals. The research instrument was a questionnaire concerning stakeholders’ attitudes toward excellence in private kindergarten education. Data were analyzed using content analysis and quantitative statistics, including the frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The findings revealed nine excellence factors: (1) innovation implementation, (2) networking, (3) administrative techniques, (4) promotion of excellence in English language education, (5) creation of relationship with the community, (6) student-centered learning management, (7) giving importance to the environment, (8) curriculum development, and (9) creation of efficient work team. CFA results showed that the model had a very good fit with the empirical data and confirmed the model’s validity (χ2 = 1,220.49, p = 1.00, χ2/df = 0.88, GFI = 0.87, AGFI = 0.85, CFI = 1.00, RMR = 0.02, RMSEA = 0.00).
