Abstract

This applied research aimed to analyze employees’ satisfaction with various components of office space across different business sectors, using a post-occupancy evaluation (POE) survey. The study was conducted in an organization that enforces comprehensive sustainability policies  and accommodates multiple affiliated companies from the retail, information technology, and e-commerce sectors within a shared office building. A total of 392 employees were selected  through quota sampling. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics—percentage, mean, and  standard deviation—as well as inferential statistics using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), with the significance level set at .05.

The findings revealed that employees across all sectors reported an overall satisfaction  score of 3.63 on a five-point Likert scale, indicating a high level of satisfaction. The average  standard deviation was 0.94. Satisfaction levels across the nine evaluated aspects ranked as  follows: 1) safety (3.88), 2) spatial orientation (3.84), 3) health and physical well-being (3.81), 4) efficiency (3.68), 5) sustainability (3.66), 6) flexibility (3.60), 7) accessibility (3.59), 8) privacy  (3.38), and 9) reachability and parking facilities (3.25). The ANOVA results showed that business  sector type was significantly associated with employee satisfaction. Specifically, the aspect of  “privacy” demonstrated a statistically significant difference among the three sectors.
