การศึกษานี้มุ่งศึกษาสถานการณ์ปัญหาและพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของผู้สูงอายุมุสลิมในการเตรียมความพร้อมตามวิถีอิสลามในจังหวัดนราธิวาส เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพเก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจากผู้ให้ข้อมูล 20 คน ได้แก่ ผู้สูงอายุ 15 คน ผู้นำศาสนา 2 คน และผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 3 คน โดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์กึ่งโครงสร้างที่ผ่านการตรวจสอบจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาโดยยึดหลักตรรกะเทียบเคียงแนวคิดทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้อง ผลการวิจัย พบว่า ผู้สูงอายุมุสลิมประสบ ปัญหาขาดโอกาสทางการศึกษาในช่วงวัยเด็ก มีภาระในการดูแลบุตรหลาน มีรายได้ไม่มั่นคง สุขภาพเสื่อมถอย และขาดกิจกรรมที่ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อม และยัง พบว่า สภาพแวดล้อมทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจไม่เอื้อต่อการพัฒนา ศักยภาพการเรียนรู้ตามหลักศาสนาอิสลาม ส่วนความรู้และพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของผู้สูงอายุมุสลิม พบว่า ผู้สูงอายุมุสลิมจะต้องเรียนรู้หลักศรัทธา หลักศาสนบัญญัติ และปฏิบัติตนตามแนวทางของนบีมูฮัมหมัดโดยมีพื้นที่การเรียนรู้คือ สถาบันปอเนาะ มัสยิด กลุ่มหะละเกาะฮฺ และมีพื้นที่สื่อออนไลน์ที่สำคัญต่อการเรียนรู้ เช่น LINE, YouTube, Facebook สำหรับข้อเสนอแนะจากการวิจัยสู่การพัฒนาระบบการเรียน รู้ตลอดชีวิต ควรพัฒนาโปรแกรมการเตรียมความพร้อมและบูรณาการกับความรู้ทางศาสนาอิสลามเพื่อใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน โดยใช้มัสยิด สถาบันปอเนาะ และกลุ่มหะละเกาะอุเป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ในชุมชน
