The Lessons Learned from the Reinforcement Process of the Community-Based Researches toward the Development of Urban Community Learning Centre

Abstract

The objective of this study were to come up with the lessons learned from the reinforcement process of the community-based researches under the responsibilities of Krirk University to achieve goal effectively and to develop the package of knowledge, system and mechanisms for the development of Urban Community learning centre and the establishment of community-university cooperation network. The CBR method was used to move the four CBR projects in four districts in Bangkok, these were : Bangkhen, Lak Si, Don Muang and Sai mai. The results showed that the enhancement activities were in line with the needs of the researchers. This was by considering from the prior and the supplementary knowledge of CBR in terms of the academics and working cooperatively with the community in training, follow-up in the areas of operation, brainstorming, and data analysis.In terms of the development of the CBR learning centre which originated from the data collection and the knowledge package received from the CBR, it revealed that the researchers at Krirk University gained knowledge and experiences in setting up the learning centre in the community and in the educational institute. In addition, the key issues, received from the lesson learned about the knowledge, system, and mechanisms in enhancement the CBR, were 1) the roles of the researchers participating in developing the research problems, 2) the increase of knowledge and skills in data analysis and synthesis for report writing, 3) the search for the guideline in setting the new CBR teamwork, 4) having representatives of each group to enhance the sub - research projects, and 5) the enhancement for the sub-project researcher teams in having awareness to develop the research problems from the real needs of the urban community.
