DEVELOPING CREATIVITY AND SKILLS IN CULTURAL DOCUMENTARY VIDEO PRODUCTION TO STUDENTS IN SCHOOLS FOR LEARNING, CONSERVATION AND WISDOM TRANSFER, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE ก

Abstract

This research aims to (1) investigate community’s behavior in terms of media exposure, and the needs for conservation and community wisdom transfer; (2) seek patterns and contents to develop creativity skill and production of cultural documentary video for students; and (3) evaluate students’ learning through a working process, the output and the outcomes of the students’ development of creativity skill and production of cultural documentary video. Both qualitative and quantitative methodologies were employed in this research. The sample was students from five schools in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The research findings are as follows. (1) The samples are exposed to television as the first media. Tourism documentary is the most desired by the community. Content should present ongoing interesting issues. (2) The patterns and contents of activity in each school are different depending upon the students’ media perception practice and readiness, and school facilities. Contents should be in accordance with the strengths of each district where each school is located and the existing information from the school. (3) The evaluation of students’ learning reveals that there were 21 video clips produced by the students were disseminated to public. Moreover, The students learned from both cultural documentary video production, local art, and local culture. Furthermore, they were able to develop their skills through teamwork.
