The Application of Artificial Intelligence to Developing Multimedia Learning Materials for 21st-Century Education

This research aimed to: “The Application of Artificial Intelligence to Developing Multimedia Learning Materials for 21st-Century Education” was threefold: 1) to study the application of artificial intelligence in creating multimedia for learning, 2) to compare the academic achievement of students before and after learning with media developed using artificial intelligence, and 3) to investigate students’ satisfaction with the use of multimedia. The research employed a combination of research and development (R&D) and quasi-experimental research designs. The sample consisted of 15 Grade 7 students from the Demonstration School of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University during the first semester of the 2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included AI-based multimedia learning materials, a multimedia quality evaluation form, a pretest and a posttest for measuring learning achievement, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and a paired-sample t-test.
The research findings revealed that: 1) The multimedia learning materials developed using artificial intelligence were of very good quality overall ( = 4.62, S.D.= 0.48); 2) students’ posttest scores were significantly higher than their pretest scores at the .05 level (t = 6.45, p < .05), indicating that the developed multimedia effectively enhanced students’ understanding and learning achievement; and 3) students’ overall satisfaction with the multimedia learning materials was at a very high level (
= 4.56, S.D.= 0.52). In conclusion, the application of artificial intelligence in creating multimedia learning materials is appropriate and demonstrates strong potential as a supportive instructional tool for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, as well as for fostering essential skills required for learners in the 21st century.
