LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT ON CHINESE TRANSLATIONS AND LEARNERS’ SATISFACTION

Abstract
The purposes of this research are (1) to compare learning achievements of the students before and after using the supplementary exercises on Thai-Chinese translation; (2) to compare learning achievement of the experimental group students with that of the control group students; and (3) to study the students’ satisfaction with the use of supplementary exercises on Thai-Chinese translation. The target group consisted of 62 third year under graduate students in two learning groups of Chinese Language Majoring Program, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, who registered in the Translation 2 Course in the 2016 academic year. The research design was the experimental and control groups design. The employed research instruments were lesson plans, a learning achievement test for pre-testing and post-testing, the supplementary exercises on Thai-Chinese translation, and a questionnaire on learning satisfaction. The researcher analyzed the data using the statistics of mean, standard deviation, percentage, and t-test. The research results could be concluded as follows:
1. After learning with the supplementary exercises on Thai-Chinese Translation, the post-learning achievement of the students was significantly higher than their pre-learning
achievement at the .00 level of statistical significance.
2. The control group students’ learning achievement was significantly higher than the experimental group students’ learning achievement at the .01 level of statistical significance.
3. The students were satisfied with the use of supplementary exercises on Thai-Chinese translation with the satisfaction rating mean of 3.69.
