Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study (1) the leadership level of administrators of world-class standard schools; (2) the success level of world-class standard schools; (3) the relationship between leadership of administrators and success of world class standard schools; and (4) the leadership of administrators affecting the success of world class standard schools under the Secondary Education Service Area Office 7. The research sample consisted of 285 administrators and teachers of world class standard schools, obtained by muiti-stage random sampling. The sample size was determined based on Krejcie and Morgan’s Sample Size Table. The tool for collecting data was a questionnaire. The employed statistics for data analysis were the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The research results were as follows: (1) the overall rating mean of administrators’ leadership was at the high level; the specific aspects of their leadership could be ranked from top to bottom based on their rating means as follows: transformational leadership aspect, strategic leadership aspect, super leadership aspect, and global leadership aspect, respectively; (2) the overall rating mean of success of world class standard schools was at the high level, with the specific aspect of success receiving top rating mean being the cooperative development networks aspect, followed by the administration and management system aspect, the quality of school administrator aspect, and the advanced thinking aspect, respectively; (3) leadership of administrators correlated with the success of world class standard schools positively and at the high level (rxy = .741), which was significant at the .05 level; and (4) the school administrators’ leadership aspects of super leadership (X1), strategic leadership (X2), transformational leadership (X3), and global Leadership (X4) affected the success of world class standard schools; they could be combined to predict the success of world class standard schools by 60.40 percent; and the predictive equation could be written in form of raw scores as shown below: Y´ = .890 + .345 (X1) - .157 (X2) - .161 (X3) + .712 (X4)
